Techshield Underbody Schutz Black is a professional-grade, bitumen-based underbody coating that gives long-term rust and gravel protection to chassis, underbodies, wheel arches, sills, side skirts and spoilers. It’s ideal for classic cars, 4x4s, restorations and rust-proofing projects.

Key features

• Tough, closed, elastic bitumen coating
• Tested to 1000 hours in a salt-spray cabinet, equivalent to around 5 years of typical UK road conditions (annual inspection recommended)
• Resists salt, moisture, acids, alkalis and corrosive atmospheres
• Resists chips and gravel; sound-deadening reduces road noise inside the car
• Good adhesion to pre-treated metal and OEM finishes, and compatible with original PVC underseal
• Can be applied drip-free by brush or Schutz gun

Please note

This is a bitumen underseal, not a wax, and it cannot be over-painted: it can only be over-coated with bitumen products. For panels you want to paint, use Techshield Stonechip. For a flexible, self-healing wax, see the Corrolan lanolin range.

Drying times (700µm wet layer at 20°C)

• Dust dry: 3–5 hours
• Touch dry: 12–16 hours
• Through dry: 1 day

Application

Surfaces must be free from rust, grease, dirt and moisture: de-rust, abrade and clean first. Shake well. Apply by brush or with the Undercoating Injection Schutz Gun, which screws straight onto the can. Also available as a 500ml aerosol.
