Brake & Clutch Fluids

Brake and clutch Fluides

The most common types of brake fluid include:
  • DOT 3: Glycol-based, inexpensive, and widely used in older vehicles. It has the lowest boiling points and absorbs moisture from the air, causing its boiling capacity to drop over time. It is highly corrosive and will damage vehicle paint.
  • DOT 4: Glycol-based and features borate esters to achieve higher boiling points. It is standard for modern European vehicles and heavy-duty towing. Like DOT 3, it absorbs moisture and will peel paint.
  • DOT 5: Silicone-based and does not absorb moisture. It features an exceptionally high boiling point and won’t damage paint. It is primarily used in classic/vintage cars, military vehicles, and some motorcycles. Note: It cannot be mixed with any glycol-based fluid.

Important Rules to Remember:

  • Never mix silicone (DOT 5) with glycol-based fluids (DOT 3, 4, 5.1). Mixing them creates a gel that ruins the braking system.
  • Glycol-based fluids (3, 4, 5.1) can be intermixed, but doing so usually lowers the fluid’s high-temperature capacity to the level of the lower-rated fluid.

  • AUTOMEC DOT 5 SILICONE BRAKE FLUID

AUTOMEC DOT 5 SILICONE BRAKE FLUID

Price range: €35.00 through €65.00 inc Vat

Automec DOT 5 is a silicone brake fluid that repels moisture, so unlike standard polyglycol (DOT 3/4) fluids it never needs changing and will not damage paintwork. Keeping water out of the system inhibits rust and corrosion, and its high boiling point gives consistent braking. Note: DOT 5 silicone must not be mixed with glycol brake fluids.

  • Millers Motorsport Racing Brake Fluid 320 Plus 500ml

Millers Motorsport Racing Brake Fluid 320° PLUS – 500ml

    26.00 inc Vat

Millers Motorsport Racing Brake Fluid 320+ is an extended-performance DOT 4 racing fluid with a very high dry boiling point of at least 320°C, for racing and high-performance braking systems that see extreme temperatures. Gives exceptional resistance to vapour lock and firm, consistent brake feel.

  • Millers Motorsport Racing Brake Fluid 300 Plus 500ml

Millers Motorsport Racing Brake Fluid 300° Plus – 500ml

    22.00 inc Vat

Millers Motorsport Racing Brake Fluid 300+ is a high-temperature racing brake fluid with a dry boiling point of at least 300°C, giving exceptional resistance to vapour lock and improved brake feel for racing and high-performance braking systems.

  • Millers Oils Universal Brake Fluid DOT 4 1L bottle

Millers Universal Brake Fluid DOT 4 – 1L

    11.50 inc Vat

Millers Universal Brake Fluid is a high boiling point DOT 4 fluid meeting SAE J1703 and FMVSS 116 (dry boiling point 260°C, wet 165°C). Its strong resistance to water absorption guards against vapour lock in hard-working, high-temperature braking systems. Suitable for all systems requiring a non-mineral DOT 4 fluid and fully compatible with other fluids to the same specification.
