TetraBOOST is not a lead substitute. It’s the only additive that makes real leaded fuel from unleaded pump petrol. It gives classic and vintage engines the full valve-seat protection of BS4040 leaded fuel, without the cost and hassle of finding one of the dwindling number of garages that still sell leaded petrol.

Dosage

The standard dose ratio is 110:1.

At the standard dose, one 945ml can treats about 108 litres of petrol. Higher octanes can be achieved with higher doses: mixed with a high-octane unleaded such as Shell V-Power, TetraBOOST can easily exceed BS4040, making 5-star 100 octane or more, and up to 106 octane fuel if required. For motorsport

• More power: typically 2–3% more BHP, with customer dyno tests showing torque improvements of typically 3–4%, and slightly cooler running
• Beats other race mixes: tests showed meaningful torque and BHP gains over other race mixes and pre-prepared race fuels, including back-to-back tests against unleaded/AVGAS mixes
• Better driveability: drivers report smoother engines and better, cleaner pick-up through the gears, especially out of slow corners, and most customers see improved lap times
• Regulation-friendly: can be mixed to conform to MSA regulations (section P) for BS4040 leaded fuel, with a lead content of 50–150mg per litre
• Methanol racers: can be used as a valve lubricant with methanol fuel
