Waterless Coolant for Classic Cars
Classic Cool 180° is the coolant of choice for many restoration and classic car specialists. For manufacturers such as Eagle, no other coolant offers the complete protection of Hawk waterless coolants.
-40°c to +180°c
Classic Cool 180° has a boiling point above 180°c eliminating the risk of overheating and boil-over associated to water based coolants.
Low Pressure
Classic Cool 180° generates 75% less vapour pressure than water based coolants, significantly reducing strain on hoses, seals and gaskets.
Protection
Classic Cool 180° reduces cavitation erosion by 75% compared with water based coolants and eliminates oxidation corrosion.
Long Life
Classic Cool 180° has been proven to last more than 20 years and a million miles in service without the need for replacement.
Non Toxic
Classic Cool 180° has been tested and certified as Non Toxic by an EPA approved laboratory. It is biodegradable and will not bio-accumulate.
Application
For use in classic car engines primarily fabricated from cast iron with carbon steel, copper & aluminium components. Not suitable for engines using thermo-syphon cooling systems
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE HAWK PREPARATION FLUID IS USED TO REMOVE ANY RESIDUAL WATER BASED COOLANTS AND TO CLEAN THE SYSTEM PRIOR TO THE FITMENT OF HAWK WATERLESS ENGINE COOLANT. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WHERE PREP FLUID IS NOT REQUIRED IS IF IT IS A NEW ENGINE BUILD AND A NEW RADIATOR.
Why is it good for classic cars ?
The primary objective of converting to Hawk Waterless Engine Coolant is to eliminate all of the problems associated to water, whilst increasing reliability and engine life. Specifically, to prevent overheating, corrosion, erosion, pressurisation and detonation.
Classic cars will very likely have built up a layer of internal corrosion over the years and this often leads to overheating. Classic Cool 180° higher boiling point effectively eliminates overheating, boil-over and after-boil. Many classic car owners are concerned about modern antifreeze inhibitor formulations and how effective they are at protecting older engines. Classic Cool 180° is specifically formulated for classic engines and proven to stop corrosion and erosion. It also allows engines to operate at lower pressure, putting less stress on hoses, radiators, pump seals, etc.
Restoration expects use and recommend it….
Reputation and credibility is everything when it comes to the restoration and preservation of classic cars. For this reason Hawk policy is for all distributors to test our product first, thus proving to themselves that Hawk “does what it says on the drum” before recommending it to their customers. We do this on a marque by marque basis.
