Shane and Tom Stafford with Peter Kendrick, who started it all.

Welcome to Liquid Technology

Liquid Technology is a family-run business working out of a yard in Kellystown, Adamstown, Co. Wexford. We are the main Irish distributor for Millers Oils, Rustbuster, Hawk waterless coolant, Fuzz Townshend’s Classic Oils and Penrite. Everything is held in Irish stock — no customs, no waiting.

Here is how it started, and who you are actually talking to when you call.

How Liquid Technology began

It started with Peter Kendrick in 2008.

Peter had built up a successful marine business in Dublin, sold it, and moved down to Wexford. He was deep into classic and vintage cars and raced classic Minis — and he kept hitting the same wall. Genuinely good oil was hard to come by in Ireland.

After a lot of research he settled on Millers Oils, got in touch with them, and started bringing in a small amount for himself. Then a bit more for friends. Before long he was selling out of the back of his Jeep at vintage and classic shows around the country, and millersoilsireland.ie followed from there.

What came after that was years of graft. Trade shows and classic runs the length of the country, and the big exhibitions at the RDS in Dublin. Peter brought in Evans waterless coolant — now Hawk — and later the Rustbuster range, which has become hugely popular here. He is meticulous about the quality of what he sells, and it shows in what is on our shelves today.

In 2024 Peter told us he was looking to retire. We knew the business, we knew what he had put into it, and it was not an opportunity we were going to let pass. We took over in November 2024.

Since then we have streamlined the packing and postage, put a lot of work into the website, and got properly stuck into social media. The one thing we have not changed is the part Peter got right from the start: only sell the stuff that is actually good.

Shane — the guy on social media

I started Stafford Performance Engines in 2011, building and tuning engines for race and rally cars around the country. I am still at it.

I had been buying Millers from Peter for over ten years before we took the business on. That started in earnest when I hit a run of cam wear problems and went down a rabbit hole into oil — what is actually in it, what protects an engine and what does not. Millers came out on top, and it has been going into my engines ever since. That is how Peter and I got to know each other.

Tom Stafford taking a customer call at Liquid Technology

Tom — the guy on the phone

Tom’s background is motorsport too. His first job was in a garage, servicing during the week and out at rallies most weekends. He has run Stafford Garage Services for the last nine years with two employees, and knows oils and underbody restoration inside out.

If you ring us, it is usually Tom who picks up.

Stafford Performance Engines, Stafford Garage Services and Liquid Technology all work out of the same yard. So when you ring for advice, you are talking to people who have spent the week elbow-deep in engines and underbody work — not reading it off the back of the bottle.

Toby — Head of Security

Toby is a big, friendly dog who will meet you in the yard hoping for a scratch behind the ears and, ideally, half your sandwich.

In the middle of the night, he takes the job considerably more seriously.

From the shows

Years of vintage and classic shows, trade stands and the RDS — plus a few from the yard as it is today.
